Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2.75 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
Admission Requirements
- Bachelor\xc2\x92s degree from an accredited institution with a minimum grade point average of 2.75.
- Demonstration of competency in art by presenting slides, original artwork, CD presentation.
- A personal interview with the program director.
- Three letters of recommendation from education and professional sources.
- Personal statement.
- 12 semester hours in psychology, including developmental, personality theories and abnormal.
- A minimum of 18 semester hours in studio art which demonstrates proficiency and disciplined commitment in art making. Art classes should include drawing, painting, and three dimensional art.
The department understands that any single criterion may not reliably predict a candidate\xc2\x92s potential for success in a graduate program. Consequently, candidates are welcome to apply if they do not meet one of the criteria but feel that other aspects of their experience may compensate.
