Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 3

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

  1. Official transcripts (in sealed envelopes) from all postsecondary institutions attended. Do not send transcripts before submitting the CSUMentor application as this may result in processing delays. If you previously attended SDSU, you need only submit transcripts for work completed since last attendance. If you are a current SDSU student you are not required to submit an SDSU transcript.

  2. GRE scores (www.ets.org, SDSU institution code 4682) Note: ONLY required if current Bachelor Degree cumulative GPA is below 3.0. If still enrolled in a Bachelor-degree-granting and your cumulative GPA is below 3.0, please plan to take the GRE as a part of your application.

  3. TOEFL score, if medium of instruction was in a language other than English (www.ets.org, SDSU institution code 46)

    Note about GRE: If the GRE is required take the exam at least six weeks before applying so that your scores will arrive by the February 1, 2016 deadline.
