Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 3

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

For your convenience, degree applications are accepted continuously throughout the year. Your admission will be reviewed on the strength of your ability for graduate studies, based upon the following criteria:

  • Undergraduate degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale)
  • Three letters of recommendation \xc2\x96 sealed, dated, and signed are required for the Educational Leadership and Special Education programs. Two letters of recommendation \xc2\x96 sealed, dated, and signed are required for the Curriculum & Instruction program
  • Application to the Graduate School and to the Master of Education program
  • Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work
  • Resume of personal, professional, and educational background
  • Written statement of applicant\xc2\x92s professional and academic goals
  • GRE scores are optional for applicants applying for any of the Curriculum & Instruction programs with an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • GRE scores are not required for applicants for the Educational Leadership program if they hold a master\xc2\x92s degree from an accrediting institution.
  • Educational Leadership applicants that do not hold a master\xc2\x92s degree, as well as any Special Education applicants, must complete all three sections of the GRE and have taken the test within the last five years
