Academic Requirements
The University of Liverpool Online MSc in Cyber Security programme* is designed for professionals aiming to enhance their specialist cyber security knowledge and strengthen their status as cyber security experts.
Both educational qualifications and work experience are considered when you apply to the University.In general, you will be expected to have the following:
- A bachelor\xc2\x92s degree from an accredited college or university, or a degree from a recognised institution comparable or equivalent to a British honours degree.
- Two years\xc2\x92 relevant professional IT experience.
If you have a professional IT background, rather than a bachelor\xc2\x92s degree, you will need:
- At least three years\xc2\x92 experience for holders of the equivalent of an HNC/HND (or two years\xc2\x92 certified HE).
- At least five years\xc2\x92 experience for holders of the equivalent of GCE A-levels or an ONC/OND.
- At least 10 years of experience otherwise.
English proficiency
If English is not your native language, you will need to demonstrate English proficiency comparable to IELTS 6.5, TEEP 6.5, TOEFL 600, or GCSE C.English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
