Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

Coursework Required for Admission Consideration:\xc2\xa0Applicants should have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0, and an undergraduate degree in Dance or equivalent professional experience. Depending on the individual\'s professional goals, certain prerequisite courses may be assigned to fill in any gaps in preparation.
Bachelor\'s Degree in Discipline/Related Discipline:\xc2\xa0A baccalaureate degree is required.
Statement of Goals:\xc2\xa0In 3 to 5 typed pages, address how your experience and education have prepared you for advanced study in dance and how the degree will support your professional goals.
Standardized Test Scores:
TOEFL: 79 iBT or 550 PBT minimum
Graduate Interview Day:\xc2\xa0All applicants are expected to attend the Dance Department\xc2\x92s graduate interview day or to make other arrangements to complete interview day requirements. The day includes a workshop class with portions taught by several members of the faculty, a 5-7 minute presentation on an area of research interest, and an interview. All applicants are interviewed by one or more members of the M.A. faculty.
Resume:\xc2\xa0A current resume detailing experience in dance, art, education, scholarship, and/or public leadership is required.
Writing Sample:\xc2\xa0A recent scholarly or academic research paper must be submitted as a writing sample.
