Admission Requirements
Applicants seeking admission to the Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS) graduate program must have a bachelor\xc2\x92s degree from a recognized institution. They must have an excellent undergraduate academic record with a strong background in science and evidence of coursework in biological or medical sciences. Particularly for admission to the Ph.D. program, prior research experience will be seen as favorable. In addition, applicants with a background in computer science, engineering, or mathematics will also be considered if they are interested in pursuing studies in bioinformatics and computational biology.
Applicants are required to take the IELTS or TOEFL exam in order to demonstrate their proficiency in English. Applicants who are fluent in English may be exempt from this requirement.
While the GRE is not required for admission to the BBS graduate program, a strong GRE score will help strengthen the applicant\xc2\x92s admission material, particularly when applying for the Ph.D. program.
All applications are reviewed by the HBKU-BBS Masters/Ph.D. Graduate Advisory Committee (GAC), who will make the final decision regarding admission.
