Academic Requirements
Standard Entry
Applicants will normally be expected to have a good honours degree in a design discipline with at least a classification of 2:1, a recognised professional qualification or with substantial experience working within an appropriate area of design or design related field. Applicants with a good honours degree in a related subject may be considered. Applicants not meeting these criteria will be considered on an individual basis depending on the strength of their application and experience.Plus one of the following
International/English Language RequirementsInternational applicants are required to have one of the following English language qualifications with grades as shown below.- A British Council International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.5 (or above) with a minimum score in each component of Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking of 5.5
- Pearson Academic score of 62 (or above) with a minimum score in each component of Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking of 51
Additional
Applicants will be computer literate as appropriate to the subject of study i.e. AutoCad, 3D StudioMax and Adobe Creative Suite and should be familiar with the use of internet technologies
It is essential that students studying this postgraduate design programme have access to the following:
- A scanner or means of digitalising image or design work
- A computer with access to the internet
- An internet browser such as Internet Explorer or Safari
- Acrobat Writer and Reader
- Imaging processing software such as Adobe Photoshop / 3D StudioMax / AutoCad etc
Selection
The application must be accompanied by a 500-word project proposal and the applicant will be interviewed.
