Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to Upper Second Class on the UK Honour scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on the UK Honour scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
Main
- Usually a good 2.1 honours degree classification (or equivalent) in drama, performing arts or a related subject. Evidence of sustained engagement with drama in a variety of forms (theatre, movement, performance). Relevant motivation, maturity and ability to reflect on self in relation to others. Two references, DBS Enhanced Level check and Occupational Health clearance will be required.
- Minimum of 1 year or equivalent clinical/field work experience preferably with children or adults working in a caring capacity including in teaching, social work, mental health and community drama. Relevant motivation, maturity and ability to reflect on self in relation to others.
- If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 7.0 (Academic level with no individual score being lower than 6.5) or equivalent English Language qualification\tas recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.
- To receive an offer of a place on this course you must be successful at interview.
As this is professional therapy training, if you\xc2\x92re shortlisted we\'ll ask you to attend an interview that will include experiential dramatherapy group work with other candidates, as well as an individual interview and discussion with lecturers. This will allow us to consider your suitability and readiness for training, but also give you the chance to experience some of the teaching methods we use on our course and decide whether they\xc2\x92re appropriate for your needs.
