Economic and Business Sciences

Candidates who\ncompleted the following may apply for the master’s (2nd-cycle) programme “Economics and Business”:

1. A bachelor’s\n(1st-cycle) programme in a relevant field:\nsocial sciences, business and law (3);

2. A bachelor’s\n(1st-cycle) programme in a field not\nspecified under point 1:

- for “Management of Public Enterprises”\nand “Corporate Governance and Management” in any field;

- for “Information Systems and\nE-Business Management” in the field of computing (48) or engineering and\nengineering trades (52);

-  for “Marketing Management” and ”International Business Economics”\nin the field of Hotel and service (811) and in the field of Travel, tourism,\nleisure (812).

Prior to\nenrolment, candidates must fulfil study obligations corresponding to 10 ECTS\ncredits under the bachelor’s (1st-cycle) programme, a training\nprogramme or by taking placement tests. Candidates must fulfil the following\nobligations: “Basics of Business Communication, Decisions and Information\nSolutions” (10 ECTS).

- for “Economics”, “Finance and\nBanking”, “Information and E-Business Management”, “Management, Organisation\nand Human Resources”, “Marketing Management”, “International Business\nEconomics”, “Entrepreneurship and Innovation”, “Accounting, Auditing and\nTaxation”, “Strategic and Project Management” in any field.

Prior to\nenrolment, candidates must fulfil study obligations corresponding to 39 ECTS\ncredits under the bachelor’s (1st-cycle) programme, a training\nprogramme or by taking placement tests. Candidates must fulfil the following\nobligations: “Principles of Economics” (6 ECTS), “Basics of Organization and\nManagement” (6 ECTS), “Introduction to Business Information

Systems” (5 ECTS), “Fundamentals of Marketing” (5 ECTS),\n“Accounting” (5 ECTS), “Finance for Business” (6 ECTS), “Business Economics” (6\nECTS).

In addition to\nother documents, the candidate must enclose a certificate of the exams passed.\nThe Faculty will organize a seminar course for the exam “Basics of Business\nCommunication, Decisions and Information Solutions” (10 ECTS) in September\n(exams will take place after the course). Exact dates will be published on the\nFaculty’s website (http://www.epf.uni-mb.si).

3. A bachelor’s vocational programme adopted prior to 11 June\n2004 in a relevant field: social sciences, business and law (3);

4. A bachelor’s vocational programme adopted prior to 11 June\n2004 in another field:

- for\n“Management of Public Enterprises” and “Corporate Governance and Management” in\nany field;

- for\n“Information Systems and E-Business Management“ in the field of computing (48)\nor engineering and engineering trades (52);

-  for “Marketing Management” and ”International Business Economics”\nin the field of Hotel and service (811) and in the field of Travel, tourism,\nleisure (812).

Prior to\nenrolment, candidates must fulfil study obligations corresponding to 39 ECTS\ncredits under the bachelor’s (1st-cycle) programme, a training\nprogramme or by taking placement tests. Candidates must fulfil the following\nobligations: “Principles of Economics” (6 ECTS), “Basics of Organization and\nManagement” (6 ECTS), “Introduction to Business Information Systems” (5 ECTS),\n“Fundamentals of Marketing” (5 ECTS), “Accounting” (5 ECTS), “Finance for\nBusiness” (6 ECTS), “Business Economics” (6 ECTS).

5. A bachelor’s\nvocational programme and a specialisation programme adopted prior to 11 June\n2004 in a relevant field: social sciences, business and law (3).

These\ncandidates are typically awarded up to 60 ECTS credits and may enrol in the\nsecond year provided they satisfy the transfer criteria laid down in the\naccredited study programme. The Faculty’s Academic Affairs Committee decides on\nthe recognition of study obligations.

6. A bachelor’s vocational programme and a specialisation\nprogramme adopted prior to 11 June 2004 in another field:

- for\n“Management of Public Enterprises” and “Corporate Governance and Management” in\nany field;

- “Information\nSystems and E-Business Management“ in the field of computing (48) or\nengineering and engineering trades (52);

Depending on\nthe amount of recognized obligations under a programme completed in the\nRepublic of Slovenia or abroad, candidates may be admitted to the same or a\nsubsequent year of the master’s (2nd-cycle)\nprogramme “Economic and Business Sciences”. In the recognition procedure,\nsatisfied obligations that may be recognized wholly or partly are identified\nand new obligations required for completion of the programme “Economic and\nBusiness Sciences” are laid down. The Faculty’s Academic Affairs Committee\ndecides on the recognition of study obligations.

Depending on\nthe amount of study obligations recognized in the context of a programme\ncompleted in the Republic of Slovenia or abroad, the candidate may be admitted\nto the same or a subsequent year of the master’s (2nd-cycle) programme “Economic and Business Sciences”. In the\nrecognition procedure, satisfied obligations that may be recognized

wholly or partly are identified and new obligations required\nfor completion of the programme “Economic and Business Sciences” are laid down.\nThe Faculty’s Academic Affairs Committee decides on the recognition of study\nobligations.
