Program Curriculum

Course Structure

  1. During the first year fundamentals of law and economic law are taught to acquire or reinforce an indispensable legal culture;
  2. The second year is optional, students may take a gap year and become interns in law firms, companies or public services, considering that practical experience is absolutely necessary in law studies;
  3. In the final year, students have to choose their specialization among the six that have been created. Each of them is specific, oriented towards different technical profiles, for distinct professional aspirations and different ways of practicing law.

International graduate admissions: eligibility criteria

The international graduate admissions procedure is open to applicants having completed their university educationin an institution outside of France and having obtained any of the following:

  • An undergraduate level degree (Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Sciences/licenciatura/licence) at the time of entry to Sciences Po.
  • A Masters level degree (magistr or magistracy, for example) for countries in which universities do not award undergraduate qualifications.
Other situations:
  • Applicants having attended German or Austrian universities: a Vordiplom/Zwischenprüfung/Diplomprüfung (the equivalent of 120 credits) and a complete year of students at postgraduate level/second cycle (Hauptstudium - the equivalent of 60 credits).
  • Applicants having attended Russian universities: a Bakalavr or Specialist qualification.

After two years of study, students are awarded a Master\'s degree (120 ECTS credits).
