Academic Requirements
- Official Transcripts from all colleges and universities attended (submit to both Graduate Studies and the economics department graduate coordinator (the latter may be unofficial); official transcripts should be sent directly from the student\xc2\x92s institution(s) of attendance).
- Official Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores for the general test (submit to Graduate Studies only; use ETS institution code 4684) OR official GMAT scores.
- Two or more letters of recommendation, preferably from undergraduate professors the applicant has taken courses with or worked with in some capacity (recommenders should submit their letters directly to the economics department graduate coordinator only; postal mail preferred).
- Statement of Purpose (submit either as part of your online application, or mail to the economics department graduate coordinator directly; your statement should address your academic and any relevant professional background, your qualifications and reasons for seeking an MA degree in economics from SFSU and any other information you would like the department admissions committee to know in support of your application)
English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
