Academic Requirements
- B.A. in sociology, political science, business studies or cultural studies relating to Asian studies (Japanese studies, Chinese studies, Korean studies or South East Asia studies) or comparable subjects, or at least an equivalent German or non-German degree in the same or in a related discipline;
- comprehensive CV
- + letter of recommendation from at least one university professor
- + letter of motivation in English
- + possible personal interview with the examination committee
- + a research proposal (3 - 5 pages) on a topic related to the regions and
- disciplines covered by the MEAS program (see here for further
- explanation);
- English language skills certified by a TOEFL test result of at least 560 (paper), 220 (computer based) or 84 (internet based), or equivalent results from other officially acknowledged tests of English capability
