Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
Applicants must:
- a) satisfy the general entrance regulations of the University of Roehampton;
- b) have attained in Mathematics, Science and in English Language the standard required to achieve a grade C in the GCSE examination (a test in Mathematics is offered for those who do not hold the qualification in the subject);
- c) hold a degree awarded in the UK or by an approved University outside the UK or a graduate-equivalent qualification recognized by the University of Roehampton (the degree or graduate-equivalent qualification should relate to the need of the programme and the primary curriculum). This should usually be at a 2.1 level or higher unless candidates can demonstrate sufficient other evidence which may indicate a high chance of success at level 7;
- d) have a broad-based educational background, can read effectively and be able to communicate well in spoken and written English;
- e) have experience of work with children or recent and relevant experience in school with awareness of the issues concerning teachers and schools;
- f) pass an interview which assesses potential for successful completion of the programme;
- g) demonstrate a deep mathematical knowledge (Mathematics specialist applicants)
- h) have met the Secretary of State\xc2\x92s requirements for physical and mental fitness to teach via a declaration of health and/or medical examination;
- i) hold a current Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
- j) meet the work experience criteria set out in the relevant School Direct guidelines from the DfE (School Direct salaried applicants)
