Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

  • Application deadlines vary depending on concentration
    • PhD, Exceptional Learners, Counselling = January 31
    • Education Administration and Leadership, and Curriculum Studies = January 31, July 31
    • Critical Studies, Adult Education and Instructional Design = 3 months prior to intended start date
  • MEd applicants must hold a relevant undergraduate degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (B), and at least 1-2 years of relevant teaching or related professional experience.
  • Applicants must submit:
    • A completed online application
    • Letter of interest
    • Up-to-date resumé
    • Three reference letters, including at least one academic letter if degree(s) have been completed in the last 5 years
    • Official transcripts (copied or opened transcripts are not official)
  • International applicants whose first language is not English must submit language scores that meet or exceed:
    • International English language testing system (IELTS) = band 7
    • Paper-based TOEFL = 650
    • Computer-based TOEFL = 280
    • TWE = 5.5
  • English Proficiency: IELTS 7 or equivalent.
