Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
Official transcript(s), goal statement, two letters of recommendation and interview. A 3.0 GPA is required for the M.A. or M.Ed. (GRE required if undergraduate GPA is below 3.0). A 3.5 GPA is required for the Ed.S. A resume or vita is required for Ph.D. The Ed.S. and Ph.D. both require the GRE with a score in the 50th percentile or above.

Educational Specialist programs in the College of Education, Health and Human Services practice selective admission. Requirements include, among other things, evidence of high scholastic achievement, a high level of verbal ability and positive letters of recommendation
All Ed.S. programs, with the exception of school psychology, require that applicants must have completed or be about to complete their master\xc2\x92s degree from an accredited institution.
In addition to observing regular application requirements of the university, applicants must do the following:
- Apply online to the Ed.S. program and submit all application material to Graduate Studies
- Submit satisfactory scores on the general knowledge portion of the Graduate Record Examination if required.
- Submit a minimum of two letters of recommendation for admission to the Ed.S. degree program. One recommendation should be from an employer or other individual who can address the applicant\xc2\x92s ability in a professional work setting.
- Participate in interviews with selected program area faculty or the program area admission committee as requested.
- Complete any special procedures mandated by specific program areas.
- Submit any supplemental information that may assist admissions committees in assessing academic or experiential background. Supplemental information may include such items as professional vita, publications, additional recommendations or a copy of a master\xc2\x92s thesis.
