Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
- Baccalaureate degree.
- Prior coursework: 12 or more credits of undergraduate work or graduate coursework in psychology, educational psychology, education, or related fields as evidenced by official transcripts.
- GPA: a 3.0 (out of 4.0) or better grade point average, or a 3.5 GPA in 9 credits of graduate coursework, or excellent scores on the GRE.
- Personal statement: A well-written essay that reflects the applicant\xc2\x92s knowledge of and interest in educational psychology and methodology, and reveals a match between the applicant\xc2\x92s goals and the program offerings.
- Letters of recommendation: Three letters of recommendation, including at least two letters from instructors or professors familiar with the applicant\xc2\x92s previous academic work.
- Diversity among student backgrounds and views is desired. To this end, the admissions committee also considers applicants\xc2\x92 accomplishments and personal qualities as reflected in their application statements and recommendation letters.
- TOEFL scores for international applicants whose primary language is not English: A minimum score of 213 is required.
