Course Structure
- critically discuss and evaluate current theory and research in selected areas of educational and social policy and practice
- examine recent writing in education from an informed critical perspective
- understand the traditions that inform contemporary research design
- translate knowledge gained from reading, discussion and writing into research practice
- generate research proposals for the investigation of current educational issues, demonstrating the application of research principles and methods
- contribute to the informed construction of educational policy, whether local, national or global
- examine research principles and methods and apply those principles and methods in the evaluation and design, and conduct of research into current educational issues.
Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
Applicants will qualify for either a basic or a progressive entry level. Applicants who hold an approved bachelor degree in any discipline are eligible for the basic entry level, and will complete up to 72 units of study.
Applicants who hold a bachelor degree in education, teaching or a closely related discipline are eligible for the progressive entry level, and will complete up to 54 units of study.
The Faculty Board may under certain circumstances and subject to specific conditions admit others who can show evidence of fitness for candidature.
English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
