Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 3

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

Admission Requirements:

All applicants must complete a School of Education graduate admission application to the M.S.Ed. in Educational Studies program indicating interest in the Educational Studies Concentration.

Due to higher education regulation changes, Duquesne University is unable to accept applications for admission to online programs and courses from students residing in certain states.

All applicants must meet one of the following criteria for admission:

  • A minimum overall 3.00 GPA (Grade Point Average).
  • A minimum 3.00 GPA on the most recent 48 credits.

International Students

All international students must receive a score of 550 on the paper version of the TOEFL Exam or a score of 80 on the Internet version of the TOEFL Exam. Results of the IELTS of 7.0 and current to within one year may be submitted as an alternate test. International students are also asked to submit a WES ICAP report.

English Proficiency: IELTS 7 or equivalent.
