The M.S. in electric-drive vehicle engineering can be completed with a six-credit thesis (Plan A) or without a thesis (Plan C) , and requires a minimum of 30 credits of course work. Both options require at least twelve credits of any EVE courses, including two core courses- EVE 5110 (or EVE 5115 ) and EVE 5120 .

If you are not currently a WSU graduate student:
- Submit an application for graduate admission online.
- Provide official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions attended.
Admission to this program is contingent upon acceptance into the Graduate School .
If you are a current WSU graduate student in good standing:
- Complete a Change of Status Application
- Email the form to: engineeringgrad@wayne.edu . Note: Official transcripts may still be required for review.

Your academic background and professional experience will be carefully reviewed as part of the application process. The requirements outlined below serve as general guidelines- if you don’t meet every criterion, you may still be considered for admission based on your overall qualifications.
- A 3.0 GPA or above is required to be considered for regular admission. Students with a GPA of 2.8 – 2.99 will be considered for qualified admission on a case-by-case basis.
- The program will consider applicants with a bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, and physics, and in other mathematics-based sciences in exceptional cases.
- No other supplemental admission documents are needed. However, letters of recommendation, a statement of purpose, professional resume/CV are encouraged to aid the admission evaluation process.
- Students in the EVE graduate certificate program can advance to the M.S. via an internal process. No additional graduate admission application is required.
- International applicants from a country where English is not the native language are required to submit a qualifying English proficiency score.
- Applicants with a bachelor’s degree from outside the United States are required to provide a course-by-course academic evaluation . For the submission and review of your application, unofficial transcripts are sufficient. The academic evaluation is only required if admitted and will serve as your official transcript.
