Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
Before an applicant\xc2\x92s file can be reviewed for full program admission, all application documents must be received in Graduate Study and Lifelong Learning by the semester deadlines listed below. Incomplete applications will not be sent to departments for admission review.
To fulfill the requirements for a Master of Science in electrical and computer engineering degree, a student must:
- Complete at least 32 credits of graduate-level work, of which at least 24 credits must be in approved courses offered by the School of Engineering and Computer Science.
- Earn a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 in courses applied toward the degree.
- Complete the requirements specified for the program in electrical and computer engineering.
- Satisfy all requirements concerning academic progress.
The degree requirements may be satisfied by taking only coursework. However, a graduate engineering project or master\xc2\x92s thesis research provides a unique and valuable learning experience in which an individual student works with a faculty member in an area of mutual interest.
