Program Curriculum

Course Structure

  1. Your courses may be offered during the day and late afternoon or early evening.
  2. Some advanced level elective workshops are offered over several days and/or weekends.
  3. Your classes will mostly be held at the Swanston Academic Building where innovative learning spaces are interspersed with retail and social spaces resulting in a stimulating environment for business students.
  4. RMIT offers a variety of learning and teaching approaches including lectures, seminars, studios, workshops, presentations, group discussions and syndicate work.
  5. College of Business educational software, the Learning Hub, other online and digital resources and printers are accessible on campus via the RMIT wireless network using your own laptop, tablet or smart phone or via computer facilities on-campus. You will be able to access the same software from home using myDesktop.
  6. Ongoing assessment throughout the semester includes examinations, essays, reports, presentations, group projects, research projects, quizzes and tests, blog journals and practical assignments.

Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

If you satisfy the following requirements you will be eligible for selection; however, there is no guarantee that you will be selected as demand for the program varies each intake.

Upon admission you will be granted exemption from completing the four business enabling courses and will be required to complete the remaining 12 courses in order to be eligible to graduate with the masters degree.

Program entry requirements
  • An Australian bachelor degree or equivalent, or higher level qualification, in a business (or related) discipline* from a recognised tertiary institution with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 1.0; or

  • RMIT Graduate Certificate in Business Information Technology.

English language requirements:

To study this program you will need to complete one of the following English proficiency tests:

  • IELTS (Academic): minimum overall band of 6.5 (with no individual band below 6.0)
  • TOEFL (Paper based): minimum score of 580 (TWE 4.5)
  • TOEFL (Internet Based Test - IBT): minimum overall score of 92 (with minimum of 20 in all sections)
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE A)): minimum score of 58 (with no band less than 50)
  • Cambridge English Advanced (CAE): CAE Grade B (with no band less than Good)

English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
