Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3.2 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
Admission to the Electrical Engineering graduate program is open to domestic and international students with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from an accredited institution or its equivalent in any areas of engineering or in the related areas of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Material Sciences, and Computer Sciences. This degree must represent the completion of a program equivalent both in the distribution of academic subject matter and scholarship achievement comparable to that offered at the University of California. A minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.2 in the last two years of upper division undergraduate work is required to be considered for admission. A minimum Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) score is also required for students applying to the program. In general, students with a GRE score 310 or above and GPA of 3.2 or above have a higher rate of admission in our program.
