Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

  • An earned undergraduate degree in electrical and computer engineering or a closely related field of engineering or sciences is required. The applicant should have a proven track record with an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale. Additional academic credentials, such as other attempted post-baccalaureate studies undertaken, if applicable, may also be submitted.
  • GRE scores: Applicants must earn satisfactory scores on the quantitative and verbal sections of the GRE. Although there is no minimum acceptable score for GRE, it is expected that a successful applicant would have a minimum of 700 in the quantitative (155 in the new GRE format) and 500 in the verbal (153 in the new GRE format) sections of the GRE.
  • Letters of recommendation: Applicants must provide three letter of recommendation, preferably from faculty members who are aware of the applicant\'s academic performance.
  • Statement of purpose: The applicant must write an essay stating the intended area of study, the motivation for selection of that area, future goals, and any other information that reflects the applicant\'s objective for applying to the M.S.E.E. program.

English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
