Program Curriculum
- Communications is one of the most popular areas at the present time. The Digital Communications sequence of courses addresses digital communications fundamentals including modulation schemes, detection of binary signals in Gaussian noise, digital signaling over fading multi-path channels, frequency hopping spread spectrum signaling, CDMA, and its applications in mobile/secure communications. Coding theory, wireless communications, and telecommunications courses are also taught.
- Computer Engineering related courses include modern computer architecture and computer design courses, with strong software support through a minor in Software Systems Engineering which may be incorporated into the EE Master’s program.
- Control Systems courses include traditional linear control systems theory, fuzzy logic control, discrete-time control, and optimal and robust control.
- Digital Signal Processing courses address DSP fundamentals, digital filtering, adaptive filters, statistical signal processing, Kalman filtering, and other important topics in the field.
- Electromagnetics courses include an especially noteworthy course in electromagnetic compatibility, the art and science of reducing electromagnetic emissions while operating at high clock frequencies.
