Program Overview
The Glocal International Development at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem is a MA programme in Humanities over 18 months, delivered On-campus. This programme equips graduates with advanced knowledge and practical skills for professional and academic careers in the field.
Students gain a rigorous grounding in both the theoretical foundations and applied dimensions of humanities. The programme combines coursework, research components, and practical projects that develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and specialist expertise relevant to industry and research needs.

Program Curriculum
Course Structure
- The first two semesters in Glocal are dedicated to theoretical courses. Courses take place two days a week.
- In addition to the theoretical courses, the second semester in Glocal is dedicated to expanding professional expertise and to the completion of a mini-practicum at an Israeli organization.
- Through the third semester in Glocal, our students pursue their internships in local or international organizations. Internships are full-time for the duration of four months.
- Upon completion of their internships, Glocal students return to Jerusalem for an 8-week closing seminar. The graduation ceremony and the program\x92s annual conference takes place at the end of the seminar while the Students are expected to complete their final seminar paper by the end of the 4th semester.

Academic Requirements
We require the following criteria:\xc2\xa0
- A B.A. with an average of 85 and above, from a university recognized by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. For American and European students, please contact the\xc2\xa0Office of Overseas Students\xc2\x92 Admissions\xc2\xa0in order to receive your equivalent minimum grade average.
- Fluency in English. English proficiency is measured by either the English language subsection of the Psychometric Test, the NITE Amir Test or Amiram Test (computerized Amir). Applicants who have completed a full course of study at an institution where the language of instruction is English, or who completed a degree program in English Language and/or Literature may be exempt in case Hebrew University overseas admissions office recognizes the program or university. - High motivation.\xc2\xa0
- Experience in social activism or community work. Prior experience working or volunteering in the developing world is a definite advantage.
- The commitment to participate in an intensive program of study, including a 4-month internship.
