Program Curriculum

Applicants who do not meet the minimum English language requirements have the option to study one of our preparatory and pre-sessional English courses. The UWS courses available are:

    • 10-week pre-sessional - entry criteria UKVI IELTS 5.0 with no element below 4.5.
    • 5-week pre-sessional - entry criteria UKVI IELTS 5.5 with no element below 5.5.
    • English Language for University Study - entry criteria UKVI IELTS with an overall score of 4.0, plus a score of 4.0 in all sub-tests (10-month course), or an overall score of 4.5, plus no score below 4.0 in all sub-tests (7-month course).

Academic Requirements

  • It is expected that students will enter this programme having completed an engineering degree such as engineering management, mechanical engineering, electrical, electronic, mechatronics, design engineering or product design.
  • The expectation is for a degree at first or second-class Honours from a university (or equivalent) in engineering, technology, business or a related discipline.
  • Candidates with lesser qualifications, such as a pass degree in engineering, who have appropriate professional or industrial experience, may also be eligible for entry to the Postgraduate Diploma. The expectation for these candidates is at least four years\xc2\x92 industrial experience. On successful completion of the Postgraduate Diploma you would be invited to join the MSc programme.

English Proficiency: IELTS 6 or equivalent.
