If you have completed a Bachelor\xc2\x92s degree or are enrolled in the final semester of a Bachelor\xc2\x92s programme you are eligible to apply for the Master\xc2\x92s programme in Biology.

Regardless of what university you are enrolled at, you can - if you meet the language requirements - apply on the basis of a Bachelor\xc2\x92s degree that grants direct access or another relevant Bachelor\xc2\x92s degree.

If you hold one of the degrees listed below, you are considered to meet all admission requirements and have direct access to apply to the Master\xc2\x92s programme in Biology. Learn about when and how to apply.

  • BSc in Biology from the University of Copenhagen (reserved access*)
  • BSc in Biology from other Danish or Nordic universities

* If your Bachelor\xc2\x92s degree grants reserved access, you are guaranteed a place on the Master\xc2\x92s programme if you apply before the application deadline during the first application period after you complete your Bachelor\xc2\x92s degree.

Other Bachelor\xc2\x92s degrees

If you have a Bachelor\xc2\x92s degree other than those listed above, you must submit additional documentation along with your application so the University can evaluate whether or not you meet the admission requirements.Learn about when and how to apply.

If you have a BSc degree in Biology from an international university you may be admitted if your programme includes the following elements:

  • Organismal biology, ecology, evolution biology, cell biology, physiology, molecular biology and microbiology.
  • Statistics, chemistry and ciochemistry.
  • Practical skills within laboratory and field work within the main areas of biology corresponding to a total of 30 ECTS credits

If you have a Bachelor\xc2\x92s degree in Plant Science, Animal Science, Environmental Biology, Biochemistry, Biology-Biotechnology, Molecular Biomedicine or related subjects from the University of Copenhagen or other Danish or international universities you may be admitted if your programme includes the following elements:

  • Organismal biology, Ecology, Evolutionary biology, Cell biology, Physiology, Molecular biology and Microbiology.
  • Statistics, Chemistry and Biochemistry
  • Practical skills within laboratory and field work within the main areas of biology corresponding to a total of 30 ECTS credits

In addition, you may be admitted, if you after an individual assessment,
are deemed to possess educational/academic qualifications equivalent to the
requirements listed above.

English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
