Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
MA TESOL Studies is for students who don\'t have the required two years relevant experience needed for our other MA TESOL programmes.
If you are not a native speaker of English, then you will need to meet the following English Language requirements. Please note that our TESOL programmes have different requirements.
In exceptional cases, we may consider an application from a student that may not quite meet these requirements. Such students would be required to study an English course at the Leeds University Language Centre to improve their proficiency.
- A bachelor degree with a 2:1 (hons) preferably in a subject within English, Modern Languages or Linguistics.
English language requirements
- IELTS 7.0 overall, with no less than 6.0 in any component.
Documents and information you need
- A copy of your degree certificate or equivalent and transcripts
- Two references
- Evidence of your English language qualifications is English is not your first language
- A personal statement of 750-1,000 words explaining how you would be suited to the programme.
English Proficiency: IELTS 7 or equivalent.
