Program Curriculum
Course Structure
- 23 hours of graduate-level coursework, 12 of which must be from UGA courses open only to graduate students and exclusive of thesis and research.
- 1 hour of Graduate Seminar **
- A minimum of 6 hours of masters research or project-based research. A typical students research hours will exceed this minimum; however, at most 6 hours of 7000/7010 may be listed on the Program of Study.

- M.S. in Engineering - Civil Engineering Emphasis
- M.S. in Engineering - Electrical & Computer Engineering Emphasis

Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
- Completion of a B.S. with minimum GPA of 3.00 (out of 4.00) from an ABET accredited program or program in a related field
- Official undergraduate and graduate academic transcripts
- A statement of purpose
- Three letters of recommendation
- General\nGraduate Record Examination (GRE) Scores. Average Quantitative GRE\nscores of recent accepted students range near the 80th percentile.\nApplicants holding a UGA degree may waive this requirement if they meet\nGPA and undergraduate research requirements
- TOEFL is required for international students whose native language is other than English
- Additional\nrequirements may be applicable for admission to discipline-specific\nMS and Emphasis Areas offered through the Colleges schools
