Course Structure
- Critically evaluate and reflect on theories and practices of entrepreneurship and innovation.
- Identify and critically analyse internal and external factors that affect a venture\x92s ability to create and/or discover new opportunities and that influence entrepreneurial decisions and the ability to commercialise products and services.
- Critically analyse the current and future state of a chosen industry sector (including the nature of competition, its financial and economic conditions, short- and long-run trends (both locally and globally), and other factors that will affect entrepreneurial activity in the sector.
- Effectively contribute to the management of the start-up and commercialisation practice by establishing entrepreneurial businesses and developing supportive organisational environments to foster innovation.

Academic Requirements
For admission to this course you must have:
- Completed an undergraduate degree of an Australian Higher Education Institution or the equivalent standard in any other institution; OR
- Completed the Graduate Certificate in Business Studies at the University of Tasmania, or an equivalent qualifying Graduate Certificate*.
* A qualifying Graduate Certificate is any Graduate Certificate from an Australian Higher Education Institution, or the equivalent from any other institution.
For entry into the MEI, international students must provide an IELTS test score of at least Band 6.5 with a minimum of 6 on all bands or a TOEFL score of 600 with a Test of Written English score of no less than 4.5. This test must not be more than 24 months old at the time of commencement.
English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
