Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate an intermediate/advanced level of oral/written English language proficiency (level B2-C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) by means of official certificates (EOI, Cambridge or similar). If applicants are unable to accredit the level requested, they must take a level test produced for that purpose by the master\'s degree coordination team.

Access to master\xc2\x92s degrees is regulated by Article 16 of Royal Decree 1393/2007, of 29 October, on the organisation of official university studies, amended by Royal Decree 861/2010.
To access a master\xc2\x92s degree course, candidates must be in one of the following situations:

  1. Students who hold a Spanish official university degree

    To be admitted to a master\xc2\x92s degree course, candidates must have an undergraduate degree or a degree explicitly declared as equivalent. Holders of the following Spanish qualifications are able to take a master\xc2\x92s degree course: diplomatura, arquitectura t\xc3\xa9cnica, ingenier\xc3\xada t\xc3\xa9cnica, licenciatura, arquitecto and ingenier\xc3\xada superior.

  2. Students who hold a degree issued by an institution from the European Higher Education Area

    Candidates are not required to have their degree recognised once the university has verified that the student\xc2\x92s degree enables them to pursue doctoral studies in the issuing country.

  3. Students who hold a higher education degree in education systems outside the European Higher Education Area

    Candidates are not required to have their degree recognised once the university has verified that the student\xc2\x92s degree enables them to access master\'s degree courses in the issuing country.

    Those applying for access to a master\xc2\x92s degree and holding a non-recognised foreign qualification from an education system outside the European Higher Education Area must pay the official fee established by decree when applying for pre-registration. This payment is a pre-requisite for completing the pre-registration process.

  4. Students who have partially completed master\xc2\x92s degree courses or doctoral studies within the legal framework previous to Royal Decree 1393/2007

    Students who have taken master\'s degree courses or doctoral studies within the legal framework previous to Royal Decree 1393/2007 can access master\'s degree courses and obtain an official degree. Once they have been admitted, they can request the recognition of previously completed credits.

  5. Teaching staff of the Universitat Jaume I

    Tenured university school lecturers and collaborating, part-time or visiting lecturers at the Universitat Jaume I who hold a higher degree and wish to study a master\'s degree course at this university must apply for the corresponding authorisation from the rector before they can register, in accordance with Royal Decree 898/1985, of 30 April, on university teaching staff working conditions, and Decree 174/2002, of 15 October, of the Valencian Regional Government, on working conditions and remuneration of teaching and research staff who are under contract of employment at public universities and on additional remuneration of university teaching staff.
