Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
- The third and fourth year of the course provide the opportunity for you to follow a number of the optional courses listed above. In the third year you take the core courses and also study cell biology, biocompatibility and biomaterials for hard tissue restoration. In the final year there are specialist courses in biomaterials for soft tissue restoration, tissue engineering and artificial organs, together with a large number of detailed case studies. At the end of your third year there will be an industrial placement in a related industry or research organisation lasting for four months. In the fourth year you will undertake a research project in a related subject which runs throughout the whole year.
- The minimum requirement is A*AA overall, to include:
- A in Mathematics
- A in Physics
- A in an additional subject (Chemistry and Biology are the most common).
- The A* can be in any of the three subjects.
- For students studying the International Baccalaureate, we require an overall score of 38 points for all courses at BEng and MEng level. This must include a 6 in both Mathematics and Physics at Higher level.
- For students studying the European Baccalaureate, we require an overall score of 80% with 8.5 in Maths and Physics.
English Proficiency: IELTS 7 or equivalent.
