Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
To be eligible for the programme the applicant must have at least a previous Bachelor\'s degree from a university or university of applied sciences (Engineering or Environmental Science) and a minimum of three years\xc2\xb4 work experience. In addition, a solid command of English is required.
Work experience
At least three years of work experience after graduation is required. Candidates who have completed in Finland a college level qualification (opistoaste tai ammatillinen korkea-aste, mm. insin\xc3\xb6\xc3\xb6ri), worked for three years after that, and then started their bachelor studies, can be accepted as applicants.
The work experience needs to be obtained by 31 July 2017. Only previous work experience for which you have been given a testimonial by your employer can be accepted. Entrepreneurship is accepted as work experience, if you can provide a certificate given by a designated authority (in Finland i.e. a testimonial issued by YEL or MYEL insurance).
A part-time job is converted into full-time work experience so that 150 hours or 20 full-length working days (at least 7 hours per day) are equivalent to one month. The work experience does not have to be continuous or obtained under the same employer.
Work placement or practical training are not counted towards work experience if they are included in the degree you are using as the basis for your application. Military service, non-military service or child-care leave are not counted towards work experience.
English requirements
A solid command of English is required. If you are not a citizen of an EU/EEA-country you are suggested to provide a proof of your English language skills. The minimum language skills requirement is:
- IELTS score of 6.0 on the academic level. We use the IELTS TRF Verification Service to make sure applicants present an authentic Test Report Form. (Copy is enough sent by an applicant)
- TOEFL score of 550 on paper-based test or 79 - 80 on Internet-based test. TOEFL scores are only accepted directly from the Educational Testing Service. The TOEFL code number of Lamk UAS is 5728. Please use this code number when indicating Lamk UAS as a score recipient. Scores will be sent to us directly from the Educational Testing Service.
- Cambridge ESOL\xc2\xb4s Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) CEFR level C1 or Cambridge ESOL\xc2\xb4s Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) CEFR level C1
- Pearson Test of English Academic 51.
