Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 3

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

Admission Requirements:

Admission to the master\'s degree program is based on a number of factors including:

  • GRE scores
  • statement of career or research interests
  • three professional letters of recommendation
  • undergraduate GPA

Degree: Students are expected to have the course work and undergraduate credit for the basic courses required for a BS degree in exercise and wellness. Students who do not have these course competencies can be admitted with deficiencies. Deficiencies are determined upon admission, and these courses must be completed, usually by the end of the first year of study. These courses are not considered part of the graduate plan of study. A graduate course may be substituted for a deficiency but will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

GPA: A minimum of a 3.00 cumulative GPA (scale is 4.00 = "A") in the last 60 hours of a student\'s first bachelor\'s degree program is required.

English Proficiency Requirements: An applicant whose native language is not English (regardless of current residency) must submit a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score unless they meet the requirements for an exception.

Applicants must fulfill the requirements of both the Division of Graduate Education and the College of Health Solutions.

English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
