Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
- An international student is an individual who holds a visa while enrolled at Cleveland State University.
- Academic:\xc2\xa0Baccalaureate degrees earned outside the U.S. must be equivalent to baccalaureate degrees earned in the U.S.
- Examinations:\xc2\xa0In\ngeneral, a standardized admissions examination (e.g., GRE, GMAT, Miller\nAnalogies Test) is required for any applicant who does not hold a\nbachelor\'s degree (or higher) from a U.S. institution.
- English Language Proficiency:\xc2\xa0All international graduate applicants must demonstrate proof of English proficiency in one of the following ways:
Meet minimum test score requirements.
- TOEFL iBT (Internet-Based) score of 78 with at least 17 in each section
- TOEFL PBT (Paper-Based) score of 550
- IELTS score of 6.0 and at least 5.0 in each section
- PTE (Pearsons Test of English) score of 50
- iTEP score of 3.8
- ACT English Score of 20
- SAT Critical Reading Score of 470 on tests taken prior to March 2016
- SAT ERBW score of 530 on tests taken March 2016 or later
- Successful completion of CSU\'s IELP (Intensive English Language Program) Advanced Level, with a grade of 80% or better.
- Completion of English language studies (Level 112) from any of the ELS Language Centers.
- Successful\ncompletion of 30 semester credit hours of college-level coursework from\nan accredited college in the United States or English speaking country\nwith a cumulative 2.0 GPA, including the equivalent of CSU\'s ENG 101 and\nENG 102 with a grade of C or better. Course equivalency will be\ndetermined during the application process.
English Proficiency: IELTS 6 or equivalent.
