What does it take to be admitted to Olin\'s MSF programs?We review each applicant on a number of factors, looking for individuals with strong academic, professional and extracurricular activities. We base our selections on your past performance, quantitative skills and communication skills. To ensure diversity in each entering class, we admit students with various backgrounds, experiences, talents, and interests.You must have completed an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution, comparable to Washington University\'s four-year bachelor\'s degree, at the time of enrollment in the MSF program.
Although professional work experience is not a requirement for admission, most successful applicants have had significant internship and/or work experience prior to acceptance into the MSF program.
Prerequisites
Applicants to the Corporate Finance and Investments track should have taken Calculus I, Statistics (preferably two courses), and Microeconomics.
Successful applicants to the Accelerated Master of Science in Finance program and the Quantitative Finance track will demonstrate outstanding aptitude for advanced quantitative finance materials and a passion for the quantitative aspects of problem-solving. Students who have majored in Mathematics, Computer Science, Quantitative Economics, Engineering, Physics, and Statistics are especially encouraged to apply to the Quantitative Finance track. Some background in the applications of computing to quantitative problem-solving is especially valuable.
All enrolled students will be required to take a readiness exam for Intermediate Accounting prior to the Foundations course.
