Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to Upper Second Class on the UK Honour scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on the UK Honour scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
- Applicants should hold an upper second class honours degree or the equivalent from an international institution. Consideration will also be given to mature applicants with substantial work experience in radio and/or television journalism.
Pre-requisites
- You should hold an upper second class honours degree or the equivalent from an international institution. Applicants that are below an upper second class degree can still apply. You may be asked to attend an interview before admission to the programme. For overseas students, this will normally be done by telephone or Skype.
- Rolling Admissions: students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to the course. This is a small course and places can fill up quickly. There is a rolling admission policy and students will normally be given a decision within four weeks of application. Interviews, either in person or by telephone, may be required.
- Application deadline for Marjorie Deane full scholarships: 1 April. All students who have been admitted to the programme before 1 April will be eligible to apply for the Marjorie Deane full scholarships which cover all tuition. A limited number of these scholarships are available exclusively to students on the City MAFJ course.
