Course Structure
- Major studio I.\xa0This is focused practice where students work with their sponsors to develop a working schedule and meet regularly to discuss work, developments and studio influences.
- Major studio II.\xa0This is where studio practice and the written thesis will develop cohesion.\xa0By working with the faculty and specifically your sponsor you will begin to develop a body of work and language that will become your finished thesis paper.
- Minor studio.\xa0Here you will approach a faculty member you want to spend concentrated time with during the semester developing a separate body of work that parallels your major studio practice.
- Seminar.\xa0Even though you only take seminar three times during your time in the program you will expected to attend every semester.
- Thesis.\xa0This is concentrated thesis writing credits.\xa0Time devoted specifically to writing your thesis.
Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
- Bachelor\'s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the U.S. or a 4-year degree equivalent from a recognized institution of higher learning abroad.
- Applicants enrolled in the final year of a bachelor\'s degree or international equivalent will be considered for conditional admission.
- 3.0 grade point average (GPA) on a 4-point scale for all graduate coursework
- GRE and GMAT are not required for applicants to the M.F.A. program in Fine Arts, the M.M. program in Music, the M.A. program in History and the M.S. program in Chemistry. GRE or GMAT may be waived for students entering Master\xc2\x92s programs and who already possess a graduate degree
