Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2.75 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

Admission Requirements

1. A bachelor\xc2\x92s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 (4.0 scale).

2. An official transcript of the applicant\xc2\x92s undergraduate program showing successful completion of 48 credit hours of college science and mathematics courses, including the following coursework: one year of general chemistry, one year of organic chemistry with laboratory, a course in analytical chemistry, one year of general biology (including cell biology), a course in genetics or population genetics, and a course in either molecular biology or biochemistry.

3. A minimum GPA in the required chemistry and biology coursework of 2.9 (on a 4.0-point scale).

4. Three letters of recommendation from individuals who are familiar with the applicant\xc2\x92s academic record.

5. A written statement concerning the applicant\xc2\x92s academic background, future plans, and areas of research interest.

English Proficiency: IELTS 6 or equivalent.
