Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

Admission for Dutch Academic (WO) students

  • Technical bachelors or a bachelor in natural sciences can be admitted immediately to the EPA MSc master programme.
  • Dutch Academic Bachelors with a degree in Architecture and other similar Bachelor courses, may only be admitted under certain conditions.
  • Dutch Academic students holding a Bachelor degree in System Engineering, Policy Analysis and Management can be admitted directly; students holding similar bachelor degrees are admitted under certain conditions.

HBO degree

HBO\xc2\xa0students graduates with a degree in a technical field or in natural sciences from a Dutch University of Applied Sciences may be eligible for admission to the MSc EPA.

Depending on your grades you will be required to follow a bridging programme.\xc2\xa0This bridging programme can be taken as a minor embedded in your HBO programme.

Non-Dutch BSc degree

1)\xc2\xa0A.\xc2\xa0A bachelor\xc2\x92s degree\xc2\xa0from a good university, that is comparable in level with a bachelor degree from a research university in the Netherlands\xc2\xa0\xc2\xa0in\xc2\xa0a main subject closely related to the MSc programme to which you are applying, with good grades on the key courses.

B.\xc2\xa0A proof that you have nearly completed bachelor\xc2\x92s from a good university,\xc2\xa0that is comparable in level with a bachelor degree from a research university in the Netherlands\xc2\xa0 in a\xc2\xa0main subject which\xc2\xa0is closely related to the MSc programme to which you are applying, with good grades on the key courses.

Exceptions: Engineering and Policy Analysis, Management of Technology, Systems Engineering, Policy Analysis and Management and Science Education & Communication, to which\xc2\xa0students holding any Bachelor\xc2\x92s of technology or science / engineering degree may be admitted.

2)A Bachelor\'s\xc2\xa0Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)\xc2\xa0of at least 75%\xc2\xa0of the scale maximum,\xc2\xa0unless\xc2\xa0specific requirements are\xc2\xa0defined for the country in which you obtained your Bachelor\xc2\x92s degree.

3)Proof of English language proficiency.

  • A\xc2\xa0TOEFL\xc2\xa0(Test of English as a Foreign Language) with an overall Band\xc2\xa0score of at least\xc2\xa090 and a minimum score of 21 for each section. Please note that we only accept the TOEFL internet-based test.
  • \xc2\xa0An \xc2\xa0IELTS\xc2\xa0(academic version)\xc2\xa0with an overall Band score of at least 6.5 and a minimum of 6.0 for each section.\xc2\xa0
  • Proof that you have passed the\xc2\xa0the \xc2\xa0Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE)exam, the Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) exam or the Cambridge English: Business Higher (BEC Higher) exam.\xc2\xa0

4)A clear and relevant essay in English (1,000 \xc2\x96 1,500 words)

5)Two reference letters in English, French, German or Dutch

6)An extensive r\xc3\xa9sum\xc3\xa9 (curriculum vitae) written in English.\xc2\xa0

7)Proof of identity
