Program Overview

The Geoengineering at Queen's University is a MEng programme in Engineering, delivered On-campus. This programme equips graduates with advanced knowledge and practical skills for professional and academic careers in the field.

Program Curriculum

Course Structure

  1. Approval of our Collaborative Graduate Program in GeoEngineering by the Queen’s Senate in May of 2002, and by the Ontario Council of Graduate Studies in June of 2002; our first student graduated in 2003, and our 50th participant commenced in the Winter term, 2005
  2. Commencement of our weekly GeoEngineering Seminar series in the Fall of 2002 (supported by Gartner Lee and AECOM between 2006 and 2010, and by Golder Associates since 2011)
  3. Establishment of our new home on the first floor of Ellis Hall in July of 2004
  4. The Victor Milligan Lecture series established in 2009 with funding from Golder Associates
  5. Reapproval of our centre for a further five years in 2009

Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

Applicants who meet one of the following criteria do not need to submit a test of facility in English:
  • completed an IB diploma (completion of SL English B is not sufficient) or
  • completed the full GCE Program (O Level, A/S Level and Advanced Level) or
  • lived in a country where English is the acknowledged primary language for the most recent three years prior to beginning their university studies or
  • attended an education institution full-time where the medium of instruction is English for the most recent three years prior to beginning their university studies

English Proficiency: IELTS 6 or equivalent.
