Program Curriculum
- Classics – A minimum of 6 hours of two 4000-level Classics courses (6 hours)
- French – A minimum of four 4000-level French courses (12 hours)
- German – A minimum of two 3000-level courses (6 hours) and two 4000-level courses (6 hours) taught in German
- Russian Language and Area Studies – A minimum of two 4000-level Russian and/or Slavistics courses (6 hours)
- Chinese Language and Area Studies – A minimum of two 4000-level Chinese courses (6 hours) and CHIN 3305 and CHIN 3306
- American Sign Language/English Interpretation – A minimum of three 4000-level American Sign Language courses: ASL 4301, ASL 4331, and ASL 4332.

Academic Requirements
Admission to the Graduate Degree Program is granted by the Dean of the Graduate School and is contingent upon acceptance by the Department of Geosciences. Within the Department, applications are considered by the Graduate Admissions Committee as well as by other Faculty members in the student\xc2\x92s areas of interest. Please note that the Department employs a holistic evaluation process and there are no minimum GRE or GPA scores required for admission. Of course, strong metrics are valued, but when considering applicants the Department also places great value on the quality and content of personal statements, your interactions with possible Faculty mentors, and especially the feedback we receive reference providers.
English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
