Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 3

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

Application Requirements: MS-HCA

Graduate applications are processed through CSUB\xc2\x92s Graduate Student Center. Transcripts and all required documents should be sent to the Graduate Student Center. When all materials for admission to the MS-HCA program have been received they are forwarded to the BPA Student Services Department. We prepare a file and give it to the MS-HCA Program Coordinator for review and admission consideration.

Application:

1) Submit a graduate application at http://www.csumentor.edu/. This application serves as an application to both CSUB and the MS-HCA program. You may also submit the application fee online.

Transcripts:

2) Submit official transcript(s) from all colleges and/or universities you have previously attended.

Recommendation letters:

3)Two letters of recommendation (no specific format required). The letter of recommendation should be from one academic and one employment source. The letters should be addressed to the MS-HCA Coordinator, Dr. BJ Moore.

*Only required if GPA is below 3.0

Personal Statement:

4) Submit a personal statement of why you are interested in the MS-HCA program. You may include your personal statement on the graduate application or send it as a separate document.

International Applicants

International students must submit foreign transcripts in the original language and a certified evaluation of the transcript in English. Foreign transcripts must be professionally evaluated by a reputable company. A suggested list is found at: http://www.ctc.ca.gov/credentials/leaflets/cl635.pdf. You need to request a course by course evaluation with degree posted.

International applicants must submit a Confidential Financial Statement and supply documentation that they have the resources to pay for one year of school and living expenses, approximately $27,000. No financial aid or scholarships are available to international students.

An applicant whose preparatory education is principally in a language other than English must have a minimum TOEFL (test of English as a Foreign Language) score of 550 on paper, 213 on computer based, or 79 on the Internet based exam. We do accept IELTS with a score of 70 or higher. The test score report must be sent directly from the testing institution to the university. Copies are unacceptable.

English Proficiency: IELTS 7 or equivalent.
