Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to Upper Second Class on the UK Honour scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on the UK Honour scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
We require a UK honours degree at 2:1 or higher, or qualifications and/or experience deemed by the University to be of an equivalent standard.
In addition, applicants whose first language is not English are normally asked to provide evidence of their English language ability before admission to the University. Further information on the University\xc2\x92s English language requirements can be found here. (Please note that we may ask for higher scores than these in some cases.) This requirement can be waived if we deem an applicant\'s level of English to be of an acceptable standard for Postgraduate study (for example if the applicant uses English in his or her day to day job and submits, as part of a referee\'s report, confirmation to this effect).
There is no requirement for experience or qualifications in Economics.
We will consider the overall quality of the candidate\xc2\x92s application. This will include their educational and employment history, the quality of their written statement on reasons for wanting to take the Programmes, and the quality of the references. We reserve the right not to offer a place to an applicant even if they meet our minimum entrance requirements.
We also expect the handwriting of all students to be clear and markers of exam questions reserve the right to refuse to mark scripts which are deemed illegible.
In recent years, the number of applications received has significantly exceeded the number of places available on the Programme. We have a specific time window for admissions, and offers of a place will be made to the strongest candidates.
English Proficiency: IELTS 7 or equivalent.
