Course Structure
- [\'Credit hours must total at least 39 semester hours for all courses in the degree plan. Each student will follow a degree plan developed with an advising committee.\', \'A full-time student in the applied health informatics program has up to four years (12 semesters) from the time of entry to complete the coursework. A part-time student has up to eight years (24 semesters) from the time of entry to complete the required coursework. Continuous enrollment is required unless approval from the advising committee is obtained. A maximum of one year of an approved leave of absence will be allowed for continuance in the program. If more than one year of leave occurs, the student must apply for readmission to the program.\', \'Each course with a HIT prefix in the applied health informatics degree program is a graduate level course and should be passed with a grade of "B" or better. Only one course grade of "C" is allowed. The minimum grade point average (GPA) required for graduation is 3.0 in all HIT course.\']

Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

- Grade Point Average (GPA): no minimum GPA requirement. Majority of successful applicants have a GPA of 3.0 or greater
- Please note: Students on a F-1 student visa are not eligible to enroll in the Master of Science in Applied Health Informatics program. F1 sponsorship is available for students in the Master of Science in Traditional Research Health Informatics program.

- The majority of successful applicants to our master\'s program have individual GRE scores (quantitative, verbal and analytical) in the 40th percentile or higher

- Three Letters of reference from educators & employers
- Two page, double spaced Goal Statement
- Please note: Current students in the certificate program applying to the master\'s program should complete at least 3 classes before applying. It is also recommended that at least one of the reference letters be from an SBMI faculty member.
