Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2.75 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
- 2.75 overall GPA is required. Official transcripts must be forwarded to the Office of Graduate Studies at Emporia State University.
- In addition to the application, prospective students should submit a resume or vita.
- Two written reference letters.
- You must possess a degree in health, physical education or recreation. If you do not have an undergraduate degree in physical education, health or recreation, you are required to have at least 12 hours of undergraduate work in physical education, including an exercise physiology class before you
- The Department of HPER admits students to the masters of science program three times per year. These dates are: 1. February 15 - for admission into Summer classes, 2. June 1 - for admission into Fall classes 3. September 15 - for admission into Spring classes
- All application materials must be submitted by the deadline indicated above for consideration of acceptance for desired semester
