Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3.5 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

- Note: Transcript requests should be made early to ensure receipt by the application deadline.Minimum GPA Requirement: An overall undergraduate grade point average of 2.75 or better or 3.00 or better in the last 60 semester hours or equivalent (4.0 scale).
- Official Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scoresNote: After you have taken the GRE, scores take 5 \xc2\x96 6 weeks to arrive at UMKC. Please take the exam early to ensure receipt of scores by the application deadline.
- Average GRE score percentile rankings for applicants who were required to submit GRE scores, were offered admission, and enrolled in coursework in the semester of admittance can be found at http://education.umkc.edu/programs/view/16.
- The GRE requirement can be waived if the applicant is a graduate of a post-bachelor degree program with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. You can make arrangements to take the GRE at the UMKC Counseling, Health and Testing Center, 4825 Troost Avenue, (816) 235-1635, or at almost any university counseling and testing center.
