  1. Interprofessional communities of practice/learners, facilitating regular opportunities for engagement, practice and critical reflection. Instructors and learners come from different professional backgrounds, contexts and perspectives and course subject matter will be interprofessional in nature;

Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

Students admitted to the program come from a variety of health disciplines and meet the following minimum admission requirements:

  • a four year undergraduate degree (normally in a health related discipline) with a cumulative average of a minimum of 3.0 GPA (on a four point letter grading scale), or equivalent, in the last *60 of the program;

  • three letters of reference (two of which must be from someone knowledgeable about the applicant’s abilities and potential to pursue academic work.);

  • teaching experience in a health related discipline;

  • a Statement of Intent which includes scholarly interests and relevance of work and teaching experience (500-800 words):

    - explanation of what is desired from this degree,

    - areas of interest in scholarly work or research,

    - professional interests,

    - interest in interprofessional teamwork in education and practice

  • Curriculum Vitae

  • Official transcripts from all accredited post-secondary institutions attended. Applicants from other countries must provide an official degree certificate accompanied by marksheets in original language and English translation outlining all courses taken and grades obtained for all postsecondary institutions attended; and

  • where applicable (see §203.24), a TOEFL score of at least 600 (paper-based) with a score of 25 for "speaking" and not less than 22 in the other categories (internet-based).

Admission decisions are made based on:

  1. previous academic record,

  2. relevant practical experience,

  3. letters of recommendation, and

  4. statement of intent.
