Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
1. Apply to the Graduate College and satisfy the minimum admissions requirements of the Graduate College. International applicants must satisfy the international admissions requirements.
2. A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution of higher learning or a degree from a non-U.S. institution of higher education that is judged equivalent to a U.S. baccalaureate degree by the International Admissions Office.
3. A statement of purpose which addresses the following:
a.) Why you wish to enter the graduate program, your educational and professional goals, which field(s) you would like to study, and why you think Boise State University can serve your needs.
b.) The research area you may wish to explore for your thesis, portfolio, or project.
c.) Any obvious deficiencies in your academic record.
4. An original, scholarly paper which reflects your abilities as a writer and researcher. The paper should be a minimum of ten pages and should include the full scholarly apparatus, including foot/endnotes and bibliography. Please select a paper that includes an analytical thesis argument and employs evidence to prove that argument.
5. Official GRE scores.
