Admission Process
Official Admission
  • An undergraduate grade point average of 3.0, based on a 4.0 scale.
  • An undergraduate degree in Communication, related disciplines, or strong minor.
  • Completion of regular application process (application form, application fee, 2 copies of official transcripts from ALL institutions attended, 3 letters of recommendations, statement of purpose).
Conditional Admission
  • A prospective student whose overall undergraduate GPA is below 3.0, may be admitted conditionally. He/she is required to maintain a 3.0 graduation index for the first 9-12 hours in order to continue in the program. The department may pose other requirements for official admission.
  • Any prospective student may enroll in graduate-level courses prior to applying for official admission into the graduate program by completing a \xc2\x93temporary\xc2\x94 application form (online). These courses (limited to 4 graduate level courses or 12 credit hours) may be applied toward the degree requirements upon official admission.
